Larissa Leffers has a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor. She is also a National Certified Counselor. Larissa provides individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Her therapeutic interests include working with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, divorce, domestic abuse, life transitions, relationship issues, or trauma.
Although she works with all ages, she has a special interest in working with children. She enjoys helping children who are grieving any type of loss – especially bereavement from a death or divorce. In addition, she provides counseling to children struggling with stress and anxiety disorders, ADHD, Aspergers, and depression. Larissa uses a variety of techniques ranging from child-centered play therapy, sandplay therapy, art therapy, and bibliotherapy.
Prior to becoming a counselor, Larissa volunteered with Family Haven, the Forsyth County Domestic Violence Shelter. During many years of volunteering, she worked with the womens support group, the office staff, and the children.
